Right about when we closed on the house, I found this little bench at on of my favorite consignment shops, The Guild Shop.
I was so excited because it is bamboo, chinoiserie style and is a great chance for me to bring in a really fun fabric! I thought it would be fun to share some of my inspiration photos I am using to steer me to my final decision on 1) the color of the legs, 2) the color of the fabric and 3) the color of the accent welt.
Bench Color
Here is what I am thinking – I’ll probably go with either black or white on the bench, but could possibly do something more adventurous like a muted mint or deep blue.
[white]
[glossy black]
[mint]
[deep blue]
Upholstery
I’m really leaning towards stripes, but am also considering something simple and solid, since I don’t have a specific destination for this piece, just want it to be flexible.
[solid]
[stripes]
Piping
As far as the piping/welt is concerned, I really would like to go with something contrasting – most likely a vibrant color or fun patters.
[striped welt]
[brightly-colored welt]
I’m a big fan of a ‘collected’ look in a home, so I’m not too concerned with it being super coordinated with anything else in the room. I’d love if I could perfectly balance both flexibility for the piece to be able to move from room to room and also not too generic looking! This is one that I’m definitely excited about!

If we are voting, I choose the satin black.
